Corporate Sales Representative

Location: Sunnyvale

Primary goal:

Meet a quota of Sales per Month and per Quarter

Tasks:

  • Understand and be able to manage two groups of prospects and customers: First is the community of users who chose to work with free open source backup and recovery software. Your task is to present to this group the benefits of commercial subscription and actively migrate target accounts to the paid subscription. Second is the group of IT users who are looking for an enterprise or MySQL database backup and recovery solution and are evaluating Zmanda products without being open source enthusiasts or community users.
  • Manage assigned territory of new and existing accounts
  • Sell to all sizes of companies — small, medium, and large
  • Typical day on the job: 50% on the phone making outbound calls to incoming leads, 20% emailing prospects, 10% working with your Sales Engineer on calls, demos, evaluations, and proposals for prospects, 10% working in SugarCRM - our SFA System - and 10% administrative, including staff meetings, strategy meetings, and one on one meetings
  • Carefully manage a 30-day evaluation process with multiple prospects
  • Occasionally attend local trade shows and events
  • Occasionally travel within your territory to sell and close large deals
  • Sell and convert users who are using the free, unsupported version of our software to using our fully-featured, supported paid subscription license and services
  • Utilize your technical skills in backup and recovery to understand, help sell and help solve customer’s problems
  • Work with our excellent technical tools and resources, such as the Zmanda Network and the Zmanda Support System to see how your prospects are doing in their evaluations, and SugarCRM system (very similar to Salesforce.com) to track sales campaigns and activities.

Background Requirements:

  • Domain knowledge of the market, problems, users, and backup and recovery products is absolutely required. You are of particular interest to us if you have worked for any of the following companies or are familiar with these companies’ products: Veritas, Legato (part of EMC), CommVault, BakBone, Yosemite, Arkeia, Computer Associates-Data Protection Services, Tivoli, EVault (part of Seagate) and Mozy.
  • 1-3 years experience as a successful Corporate Sales Rep in the high-technology industry
  • Ability to sell to System Administrators and IT Managers

Marketing Programs Manager

Location: Sunnyvale

The Marketing Programs Manager will be responsible for generating sales leads through the development and execution of integrated direct marketing programs utilizing a mix of email, Web/online marketing, webinars, calling and event-based campaigns. The Marketing Programs Manager will work with the inside sales team to understand lead generation requirements on a quarterly basis and develop a direct marketing plan, promotion calendar and campaign mix. Through those programs, you will both attract new Zmanda customers and deeply engage with existing customers.This position is critical to expanding demand generation pipeline and accelerating our sales and revenue growth. You will be accountable for lead targets, lead quality, conversion, program performance, and marketing spend.

Support and Solution Engineer for Windows Platforms

The job involves working with Zmanda customers to design, implement and test Zmanda backup solutions for Windows platform and Windows applications. The engineer will also identify customer requirements for future Zmanda products for Windows. The engineer will have to communicate with customers and prospects to present Zmanda products and how the products fit into their backup and recovery processes. The candidate will be part of engineering team and will work other groups in Zmanda organization.

Skills required:

  • Bachelors degree with three or more years of relevant experience.
  • The candidate must have Windows, Active Directory and Windows applications (SQL server, Exchange, SharePoint) administration experience especially in the areas of storage management, backup and recovery, and security processes.
  • Troubleshooting skills to identify, isolate and correct issues on Windows.
  • Coding and Debugging C++ code is desired.
  • Working knowledge of UNIX (Solaris) and Linux.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work technical details with Zmanda support and sales teams.

UI Developer for Cloud Backup

Location: Sunnyvale, CA or Pune, India.

We are actively looking for a UI Developer for our Cloud Backup product line.

Job description:

Collect GUI requirements and constraints from customers and developers. Design and develop the product front end based on the requirements. Work with other backend developers to deliver the product on schedule.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience as Windows Java developer
  • Should have developed products using Java Swing/AWT
  • Extensive experience with MySQL and JDBC
  • Must have object oriented design and analysis skills

Qualifications:

  • C/C++ object oriented programming experience is required.
  • Experience with Windows Volume Shadow Services (VSS) API is required.
